Mass Seasonal Time Change starts September 7, 2014
Sunday Evening Mass will be at 5 p.m. (formerly 7 p.m.)

This change will run from September 7th, 2014 to May 17th, 2015 at which time the Mass time for the Sunday evening Mass will go back to 7:00 p.m.

This seasonal time change is only for the Sunday evening Mass. We hope this change will allow all parishioners to enjoy the longer hours of daylight throughout the summer months and to be home and warm earlier throughout the winter months.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

You're invited….

Are you unbaptized, but interested in being baptized in the Catholic Church? Perhaps you’re married to a Catholic and attend Mass with your family and are starting to think about becoming Catholic yourself. Maybe you just have questions about the Catholic Faith that you would like answered before you decide if you want to become Catholic.

If any of these situations apply to you or if you are already baptized Catholic, but never received First Eucharist or Confirmation, RCIA may be for you. RCIA is first and foremost a journey of faith – a group that meets on Sunday evenings to learn about the Catholic faith, ask questions, read and discuss the Bible and pray and share faith together, while preparing to receive the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation.

The next inquiry group will be starting on Sunday, September 14th.

For further information, please contact Maddie White, RCIA Coordinator – Religious Education Office at (810) 694-9072, Ex. 154.

United Catholic Appeal starting September 6th/7th

Catholic social service agencies from across Genesee County launched the 2014 United Catholic Appeal (formerly the United Lenten Appeal) this past spring. Holy Family is launching our appeal the weekend of September 6th/7th. This is an annual petition within the Catholic community dedicated to gathering support for agencies that serve our community’s most vulnerable citizens. Organizations benefiting from the appeal are: Catholic Charities of Genesee County, including its North End Soup Kitchen Programs, Catholic Outreach, St. Francis Prayer Center, and St. Luke N.E.W. Life Center. Your support helps provide vital services to our neighbors in need here in Genesee County. Information about these agencies is available. For more information call (810) 232-9950, ext. 226/228. You can support this appeal today through “online giving” on our website. Envelopes will be available in the pews starting September 6th.

Thank you in advance for your generous support of the United Catholic Appeal.

One in Faith, United in Service.

DSA 2014 Report
The envelopes are out of the pews and the tracking thermometers are off the walls. You thought you had heard the last update for our 2014 Diocesan Services Appeal but I’d like to share with you some very good news.

It was reported at the end of July after 16+ weeks of the appeal, that Holy Family had reached 98.7% of our goal by giving $193,659.00 to the DSA. After a final appeal was sent out by the Diocese to those who had yet to support and DSA pledges continued to come in each week, I am very pleased to announce that Holy Family has not only reached our goal, but we have surpassed it.

Thanks be to God for  the overwhelming generosity of this faith community.

Holy Family was one of 52 parishes that reached their goal. Over 750 individuals and families supported this year’s appeal and a big Thank You is owed to all. As you may remember our goal was $196,100. We exceeded our goal by collecting $199,168 to support the many ministries and programs in our Diocese.
